Official: Aston Martin Rapide coming only with a V12 engine
Yes it is true! These facts were revealed by Marcel Beci, Aston Martin’s General Manager on European Operations in a recent interview with the Dutch newspaper, De Telegraaf. It appears that in no way the upcoming Rapide Sedan will not receive a V8 engine because the manufacturer wants power and only the V12 can offer this.

The new Rapide will receive the V12 engine from the DB9, but the source didn’t want to spoil the surprise and we will find this only when the car will be officially launched. According to Beci, the new vehicle will not be just a sedan with big engine, this was designed as a real sports car but with four doors. The new sedan is expected to come with a price tag of 250,000! When will we see it? Few sources confirm its debut at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, but if will not appear then at the Frankfurt Auto Show it will be the most attractive vehicle!

this is going to be crazy this is my second best next to the Lambo Estoque. This engine does justice in the coupe version so it has more than enough power to pull that extra weight.

Well, that (sort of) explains the stratospheric price.

He's referring to Aston Martin's dismissal of using a V8 as a second engine, so the only engine that will be offered is a V12

Nice, a James Bond family hauler. Makes the Panamera look downright disfigured...

Agreed. The Panamera looks like a mutation but the Rapide is truly beautiful. And just how is a V-12 engine a disappointment???

I agree with all of you, looks great. Panamera, Ugly.....but in the track or any road, The Rapide will bite the dust against the Panamera.

In my opinion, this thing looks good even though i still can't get used to the niche markets (4 door coupe, coupe suv/sav).

Aston Martin's are the best looking cars in my opinion. I hope they take what's existent in the current lineup and refining it. You simply can't go wrong with looks like the DB9, DBS and the Rapide. Absolutely stunning!
