Rumors: MINI Speedster Approved For Production
Mini is growing its model line-up and very soon all new Mini Crossman with four doors and four wheel drive will be available around the world.

Now sources close to the BMW are saying that more models will join Mini line-up, as the company has approved Mini Speedster for production.

Rumors about the Mini Speedster first started back in 2001 when the first drawings were made. Sketch you can see above drawn in 2001 shows us what to expect from the production version.

Mini Speedster will be based on the R56(second generation Cooper). Design will be more angular, aggressive and sportier compared to the Cooper.

I'll stick with my original statement...If it's Front Wheel Drive, instead of Mid-Engine or All Wheel Drive...

I agree. It would hope they learn from the 90s Lotus Elan. It was FWD and they couldn't give them away. Things have changed but do know they couldn't sell me one if it's FWD. If it's Mid engined I would buy one in a heartbeat. It would be great replacement for the Toyota MR2 spyder. That car would probably still be in production if it hadn't been so ugly. A mid engined cute Mini would sell great.
