2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee coming to the New York Auto Show
Chrysler will be providing enthusiasts with a preview of its remodeled Jeep Grand Cherokee at the New York Auto Show this week, although the SUV will not yet be sold until 2010.

This was confirmed through Chrysler’s viability plant it submitted to the US Congress two months ago. Details concerning the new SUV have been released through an official preview. It will come as a 2011 model and will sit atop an advance car-like unibody platform and highlight Chrysler’s forthcoming Phoenix V6 or a HEMI V8 as optional powerplants.

Let's hope it looks a lot like the artist's rendering.

Hopefully they will update the interior as well.

"Not that many people go offroading" — crslmn

I do and that why I've owned five Grand Cherokees and most likely will not own another.

The headlights have a much more Chrysler appearance than the big block styled lamps of most Jeeps.

I want Jeep to separate or at least be bought by Ford so it can stay in business and continue to be profitable.

Jeep's too strong for Chrysler to willingly give them up. That would be suicide. The first thing Jeep needs to do is dump that crappy Commander!

i agree the commander is hideous however I do see a lot of them on the roads so they must be making some money.

For some reason I dont really believe that Mercedes would give them their NEXT gen ML chasis. I think that its not even the current gen. Remember MB gave Chrysler an 8 yold platform for the 300. The E class is now moving to its third platform since the one the 300 is one been out.

It was reported sometime last year that Chrysler & M-B were going to work on a joint platform for the next Grd Cherokee, Durango/Aspen, ML, GL, and R SUV/CUV vehicles. I wonder if this "advanced" platform is related to this joint work.

What Chrysler should have done is restyle the Commander and re-badge it"Grand Wagoneer". The Grand Wagoneer was the Halo car in Jeeps lineup back in the 70's and 80's. I rode in one of those. It was a nice vehicle. Jeep will survice even if Chrysler does not. Many car makers would be attracted to buying the "Jeep Brand"

As much as I hate government meddling....

I'd love to see Premiere Obama force Chrysler into CH11, which would turn into Ch7 (let's be real here) and then Mercedes/Fiat could swoop in and snatch up Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep for pennies.

I'd love to have Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep backed with Merc hardware again.
