Audi U.S. boss vows not to buy sales.

Audi's U.S. Chief, Johan de Nysschen has vowed that Audi of America will NOT be persuaded into chasing buyers with large retail incentives and profit-draining lease deals. Audi's 2008 global sales increase comes despite incentives that are near the industry bottom. Audi has consistently refused to buy its marketshare. Audi has instead focused on profitability of its U.S. dealers and those around the world.

Instead of offering huge incentives, or profit-draining lease deals that have plagued competitor BMW as witnessed by its massive profitability decrease in 2008, Audi will focus on progress through innovation its technology.

Audi's public awareness increased 8% and consideration of Audi's vehicles rose 7%.

Although it has struggled to keep pace with Mercedes and BMW in the United States, in Europe Audi is aiming to outsell both BMW and Mercedes in 2010 and is just about even with Mercedes on a global sales level through the first quarter of 2009.

I like Audi and I wish them the best of luck but lets be honest here the only thing they got going for them is the S5 and R8 everything else I would go else where. If they dont start making nice cars that catch your breathe at first glance they will never get any better then were they are now.The only people that I know that talk of Audi like if their's something special about them is the V-DUB fans but those people are as bad as the Lexus and BMW fans.

Also Ive been in Audis and must say that their quality isnt all that great, good but not great same/and no better then the Volkswagens

Oh yeah?!!! And how do you explain the fact that Audi's market share in the US is actually increasing in this economy? Their sales have declined but at a much lower rate that their competitors.

you people always impress me by stating OPINIONS as FACTS. I have no problems with people hating (that's what these forums are for, evidently), but at least make the effort to research your claims - resale value for Audis have been increasing more than its competitors over the last few years (adam), the interior and exterior build quality of Audis have been rated one of the best in the industry for many years (boss), Audi has come with a ton of technology such as turbo direct injection gasoline engines, quattro, TDI sports cars, DSG, among many others (badgewhore), and as for david969, obviously you haven't read the article, but it's not like it's worth commenting about your posts anyways.

David hates lexus but types that garbage to mimic what he feels a Lexus fanboy acts like. For some reason ppl on this site still feeds into his garbage and actually feel the need to entertain it. Ignoring it might just make it go away.

That's hilarious. David969 actually got someone to take him seriously and gave a heart-felt, poignant response. Must be a newbie. Welcome on board.

caixa2 Ill agree with you on all but the interior.I dont see how their interiors are rated as some of the best because their's no difference's from the VW's.I've heard it I've repeated it but went to the dealer and now cant believe I was fooled.Best built car's Ive ever been in is the M5,Toureg and for the money the jetta and the cc both really nice when considering price, safety and style those 2 things are bargains
