BMW Offers New Extension Plan For its Maintenance Program

BMW Offers New Extension Plan For its Maintenance Program
With they economy tanking and the competition from companies like Audi and Mercedes-Benz, BMW now extended their maintenance program to 6 Years or 100,000 miles. BMW of North America said that all of its models are eligible for a purchase of the 6 year/100,000 mile maintenance extension. The catch? You have to pay for it…

Depending on the model, the cost for the extension ranges from $1,395 to $2,995. BMW vehicle owners can purchase the two-year Maintenance Program extension from an authorized BMW Center during the first four years after the vehicle’s in-service date or 50,000 total miles, whichever comes first. What do you think of the new extension, I wonder what Audi will do?

That's a bargain deal! When I had my 528, I spent another $12K in maintenance from the 50K mark until I dumped it w/ 92K on it. Due to this fact, we've driven Lexus since and only incurred nominal maintenance cost; and of course our Chevy 1/2 ton is the same. I think this makes a very compelling case for a BMW in my garage (and many others) again.

Almost everyone can make a car last to 60K without major issues. But the 60K to 100K can be expensive for most any brand. So if repair cost are a concern this addresses it.

Ummmm..... this has been around for a long time through BMW. It was offered for my 2006 I bought in late 2005. They are just starting to advertise it on their home site when you "build your own". It is definitely worth it because you can finance it at a low rate and it is smart to stay in your vehicle a little bit longer.
I believe it is transferable just like the CPO warranty.

Smart marketing move. Keeps folks in their BMWers a while longer and also might get someone to jump into a new one since maintenance is part of the deal.
