SLS AMG may not be available in all Mercedes-Benz dealerships
For those who don’ know, at the beginning of this week we announced the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster, a new vehicle considered by the German manufacturer for 2011.

Today we found out something else about the new SLS AMG Coupe, an interesting fact: it appears that the new vehicle will not be sold in all the Mercedes-Benz dealerships. These words came from Mr. Huub Dubbelman, a Mercedes-Benz spokesman from Nederland, in a recent interview with Autotelegraaf. According to Dubbelman, the new SLS AMG will be an exclusive sports car and due to this fact the manufacturer has to take a hard decision: either the car is offered in all dealerships or only few companies will be able to sell it. Regarding the debut of the car, this is still set for Frankfurt, while the deliveries will start from early 2010.

The SLS will probably only be sold in Mercedes dealerships located in major cities. In Germany Mercedes displays and sells the Maybach and SLR only in official MB dealers (owned by MB themselves) and only in major cities. So in Germany this means Berlin, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Munich, Bremen and so forth. I suspect this will be the case with the SLS.

Mercedes has built an AMG Performance Center network in the United States. It would only make sense that the SLS be the first vehicle that is sold exclusively through this group.

e34 is right - There will be fewer cars built than the number of dealers.
An important consideration indeed.
