GM Slashing 1,600 Salaried Jobs This Week
General Motors Corp., operating on $13.4 billion in U.S. government loans, told employees that 1,600 salaried workers will be dismissed this week.

Combined with 250 earlier job cuts and other resignations and retirements, the moves will complete “the bulk” of GM’s plan for eliminating 3,400 U.S. salaried positions, a spokesman, Tom Wilkinson, said today.

Maybe more people should worry less about the view that somehow they are overpaying for thier car and insted say:

"I don't want to pay loan shark rates on my credit card and get a quarter of a percent interest on my savings so that Wall Street workers can be overpaid for sitting behind a desk and sunning themselves out on the Golf course."

Amazing that so many on Wall Street failed, yet they keep thier jobs and huge bonuses. Working people at GM insted get the blame or the nation's decline. People who work Long hours in hot factories who ask for healthcare and a wage to keep thier home and pay for thier kids college. Pay and Health Insurance that companies no longer want to American Workers. It would take Eons for the GM worker to make what the Wall Street failure workers make.

It is well time for GM white collar job cuts. GM management has done little to help the company. Insted they create more car divisions to somehow solve problems.

To bad the media has Americans brain washed to hate a company that provides services for the hard working common man. I am at a loss for words when one hard working individual groans and complains when he sees another working man having benefits that are a necessity in today's world.

Upwards thinking.
