Upcoming Golf RT20 to feature a 2.0-liter engine delivering 300 hp
There are some powerplant exchanges happening between Volkswagen and Audi such as that between the Golf and Scirocco R20T models that come with a powerplant that will boost the power yield on the Golf to better compete with a 300hp Focus RS and a 250 hp Megane Renault Sport if these already exist.

The German carmaker has been evaluating the Golf and Scirocco R20T versions over at the Nurburgring circuit using a 2.0 liter twin-turbo engine that is expected to produce around 300hp also. Although details in the twin-turbo technology are not yet on hand at this time, it looks like that VW will get on with the 2.0 liter engine it shares with Audi, which is seen in the S3 with 265hp, to a whole new level compared to the present, somewhat mild, 211hp in the Golf GTI and 256hp in the S3.

focus will be extremely hard to beat, so cheap and so fast, but still FWD. Megane, well, another story. probably more expensive, not that radial, probably as fast or faster on track than Focus. Golf R version used to be 4wd, is this going to be the same? Engine sounds about right to me. Megane is 2.0, Focus is I believe V5 2.5, Golf will be 2.0. All of the pocket rockets, with Focus being the biggest bang for the buck probably and Golf being a better all rounder.

and Megane with the best design and probably record braking times on tracks, but not on average roads.

Focus is an I5. Only VW makes a (ridiculous) V5 engine.

Megane is actually the cheapest of the bunch and in CUP form, NOTHING can touch it!!
With the new one coming out, even the Focus RS will have some work to do!!
