Shanghai Motor Show: Buick New Regal 2.0 Turbo
The first product of GM ever built in China, the Buick new Regal 2.0 Turbo, which will be offered with a turbocharged powerplant, is making its world introduction at the 2009 Shanghai Auto Show. The car will come with three powerplant options.

GM China says that coming out with cars equipped with turbocharged powerplants is part of their commitment in the ongoing improvement of their customer choices in the Chinese auto market. The carmaker claims that their turbocharged powertrain comes with high potency and fuel efficiency with reduced emssions. This is a move forward as GM aims to enhance its overall efficiency in its product lineup in the domestic market. The New Regal intermediate sedan, an advanced GM produce, was released to the Chinese market last December.

Not a bad looking sedan. Maybe there is hope for Buick after all.

Since when does china care about emissions? Ok, well maybe individuals are starting to care, but the government certainly doesn't.

GM has great cars, just too late. I would consider this car in the states easily. Great job GM!

Why couldn't they release something like this a couple of years ago? I'm always surprised how the European model Fords and GMs looks like foreign cars while the domestic models looks like crap. If GM/Ford replaced some of the cars in thier domestic lineup with the models from Europe they wouldn't be in the mess that they are in now IMO.
