Forte Koup (Coupe) KIA's Civic Killer!! Rev'ed Up and Ready to go. Drops in August!!!

KIA motors: Formerly known as Kyungsung Precision Industry, has come a long way from the days when they were a humble South Korean Maunfacturer of Ford Aspires and Festivas. Its older Brother Hyundai's bank roll, has given KIA such a short time to grow. KIA tries here and there to bring out a sporty product, but it really never catches the eye of enthusiaists.

KIA today in its new (Scion'esque) renaissance period as a maker of SOULs, now has a Honda Civic Killer: the KIA Forte. The KIA Forte will come in Sedan and Coupe Body style, feauring 2.0 and 2.4 gas engines, a 1.6 Turbo, and a possible Hyrbid.

This vehicle will be on KIA dealer lots in August, and I can just hear one rev up!! BBlooommm!!!! BBlooommm!!! Bloommmm!!!!! Bloommmm!!!!! BBBRRRLLOOOMMMM!!!!!!

it is ok......but my thing is how are you going to drop a "CIVIC KILLER" when you took styling ques from the civic...the whole car looks like a civic copy cat but i dont expect nothing less from them i mean they copy everything else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! from what i see there is not 1 thing unique about this car

They could be on to something. Hyundai/Kia needs some performance vehicles which they have been lacking. The Genesis coupe is a start but with the turbo only putting out 210BHP is kind of weak. Mitsubishi gets 300 and Dodge get 265 out of similar engines of course they don't have a 100,000 mile warranty. Performance cars bring in people to the dealership. When the Speed3 came out we were selling them before they came off the truck.

I am sure that with time Hyundai will adjust the HP rating and output on the genesis coupe.

Mitsu is using the same engine, hell Hyundai led the front with it ha-ha

Really if you seen other pics it the only resemblence of a civic in the car is the wide head lights. But really they look very different. I think people are just blind to what kia has become and want to pay 3000 more for a vehicle that is the same quality. call it what you will, I am sure some one who really knows little about cars will be like "kia sucks" "kia quality is horrible" but truth of the matter is they rank in the Top 10 for 10 year realiablity and initial quality is very good too, hell the Rio has been JD powers best quality subcompact for 2 years in a row.

This vehicle really could be a tC / Civic competition and is going to be hard to compete with at 173 HP 6 speed and probaly under $18000 well equipped
