Reports Of Toyota Rust Issues Now Spread From The Tacoma To The Tundra
Toyota is hearing from truck owners about frames so badly rusted they can't be repaired nor replaced. It's a problem Team 5 Investigates first uncovered last year with Tacomas. And now it appears to involve larger model Tundras as well.

"The frame is cracked," said Tim Gatzke, owner of a 2000 Toyota Tundra. "And down in the back here, the leaf springs on this side are so corroded that they're broken."

He said the frame on his truck is being eaten away by rust. Driven only 89,000 miles, it no longer holds power steering fluid.

David, show me an Audi with some rust on it.
That is why they have a 12 years/ Unlimited for corrosion.
Ain't gonna happen unlike your poor Toyota...

DAVID- that pic has leaf springs in it. I dont think the X5 or the Q7 has leaf springs. They are unibody assemblies not body on frame.

If I remember correctly the Tacoma issues were linked to a supplier that failed to adhere to proper rust proofing preparation. This led to inadequate protect of key assemblies.

This is similar to what VW had with the coil packs. The vendor failed to adhere to the specifications and all of the sudden the coil pack goes bad. Luckily enough for VW owners a new coil packs takes <5 mins to replace. These rust issues may cause the vehicle to be totaled.

Pull a CarFax. The vehicle pictured is either from the Rust Belt or New Orleans. More hater propaganda.

Two different problems. The other post is about an actual recall. Toyota has not issued a recall for rusted frames - yet.

These are truck models from 70s and 80s when all cars rust like this. But these pictures shows an example with extreme rust. Like when you've never washed your vehicle underneath for, say, 30 years. This is clearly just a propaganda against Toyota trucks.
