2010 Subaru Outback pricing announced
Besides providing pricing details for its latest 2010 Legacy, the Japanese carmaker Subaru has also done the same for its 2010 Outback.

They have tagged the new Outback at $22,995, the same as with the preceding model that is driven by a modified 170hp 2.5 liter 4-cylinder Boxer powerplant coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox. A CVT transmission is also available at an extra $1,000. The car is equipped with 60-40 split-folding and reclining rear seats, floor mats, cargo tray, electronic parking brake equipped with Hill Holder system, automatic on and off exterior lights, audio system equipped with sing-disc CD player, aux input and 4 speakers, two lit visor mirrors, enhanced gauge cluster fitted with ‘eco’ gauge, multi-function display with external temp, overhead console equipped with sunglass holder and remote keyless access to the car.

I think the styling is a retrograde step, in other words, I don't like it. And what I noted as an interesting omission is a turbocharged 4-cylinder. In this day and age when every manufacturer is going for less cylinders and more turbos (BMW is talking about a 3 cylinder twin turbo aren't they?!?) Subaru doesn't seem to be paying attention. They are also increasing displacement? They must know something we don't about either the cost of petroleum, ethanol, or perhaps butanol. On second (or is that 4th thought) they probably have access to alien technology. Yeah...that's it...alien technology...
