Not a great commercial but honestly I don't know how I would market it. Maybe get Leonardo to talk about it.

I really like the ad and think that it will be a success because i think it captures the feeling of satisfaction prius drivers get while driving their cars, and it talks about what has been improved on the old model. Thought i was strange it didnt mention the MPG ratings or the new low (insight competitive) price. I dont like the way any prius looks including this one (especially the boomarang headlights) but i like the way this one looks more than the previous 2 generations. I think its cool how you can get LED headlights and those 17" wheels look worlds better.

how can anyone not living in a cave NOT have heard the mpg figures?

every test has shown it indeed does get the 50 mpg overall, and the whole lot of journos at the intro said 70 mpg was also achievable with only modest effort. the ad best uses costly on-air time listing what's new.

liking or not liking the styling is a strictly personal matter. (and many DO like it!) but the engineering and technical achievements have to admired by ALL who claim to be auto buffs.

Looks like a music video for some random indie band, which is the exact market for the Prius.

I guess showing the inside of a nickel-metal hydride battery recycling plant was out of the question...

The recycling process starts by removing the combustible material, such as plastics and insulation, with a gas fired thermal oxidizer.

The cells are then chopped into small pieces, which are heated until the metal liquefies. Non-metallic substances are burned off as toxic gases; leaving a black slag on top that is removed with a slag arm. The different alloys settle according to their weights and are skimmed off like cream from raw milk.

Some recyclers do not separate the metals on site but pour the molten slag metals directly into what the industry refers to as 'pigs' (65 pounds) or 'hogs' (2000 pounds). The pigs and hogs are then shipped to metal recovery plants. Here, the material is used to produce nickel, chromium and iron re-melt alloy for the manufacturing of stainless steel and other high-end products.

Current battery recycling methods requires a high amount of energy. It takes six to ten times the amount of energy to reclaim metals from recycled batteries than it would through other means.

This car looks like a Civic, the commercial doesn't say anything to me, all I see is flowers and BS, PML could convert a Hummer H-1 to a Hybrid electric to be more efficient than this car, so no I am not exited at all. Very sad, don't be fooled into thinking this is the best that they can do.

"PML could convert a Hummer H-1 to a Hybrid electric to be more efficient than this car" sounds 1000x more like BS.

NO WAY can you get more efficiency out of a 3-ton+ hogasaurus than from a vehicle weighing 1.5 tons. heck even the camry hybrid pays a mpg penalty for its greater mass and drag, and it's from the same company.

Check this out and compare it to This Prius, if you read this then you know that Toyota has to go back to school and since PML can make something this economical it is only logical that they could convert a Hummer H-1 to be as economical as this Toyota or comparable.

^^^I hope you all took that comment as just my opinion. I dont think the commercial was horrible, it just looked like it appealed to who it was suppose to.
