Are You Fed Up With Those "Your Car Warranty Is About To Expire" Calls?

Are You Fed Up With Those
The telephone calls flood people every day around the country: A computerized voice tells them that their car warranties are about to expire and that they should sign up for new service plans.

The calls target people regardless of whether they have warranties or even own cars and have become such a nuisance that officials in 40 states are investigating the companies behind them. The Better Business Bureau said that last year it received more than 140,000 complaints about the car warranty calls, which come even if a person has signed up for the national Do Not Call registry.

U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer wants a federal investigation into what he calls "robo-dialer harassment."

I get at least two per week on my cell. I think hell may have frozen over because I strongly support Sen Schumer on this.

None. Between the 'no call' list and Embarqs unidentified call-blocking I don't get any of those annoying calls. Only about 1-2 calls a week slip through the home phone from 'marketing' people.

Now letters in the mail...that's another story!!!

Obviously you people put your phone numbers somewhere online or submitted one too many mail-in rebate. I've had the same number on my cell phone for over 6 years now, and have used it as my primary and only number for over 5. I don't get a single one of these calls, nor any other marketing calls. I'm just careful who I give it to, and I have it set as an unlisted number.

I recently bought a cell phone (within 3 months) I haven't signed up for anything with it, the only people who have my number are people who I call. And I still get these calls on it at least once a week.

I love messing around with these guys :P
"Which car?"
"The Lada?" (Lotus and Koenigsegg also makes them dumbfounded.)

It's not like their life depends on fraud in a way that I should get out of my way and let them trick the gullible ones.

I appreciate the concern which is been rose. The things need to be sorted
out because it is about the individual but it can be with everyone.

Many tour guides in Alaska are asking visitors to purchase bear spray this year due to the number of increased attacks in Anchorage.

I hope this isnt a stupid question but what is this "do not call" thing? I first heard of this about a year or two ago but I thought a friend didnt know what they were talking about.
