VIDEO: First Euro E-class Commercials Air--Will Anyone Figure Out What They Mean?
Here's a 2010 Mercedes E-Class commercial that's running in Europe.
I've watched it 3 times and I still can't figure out the message.
I would love to hear what they are trying to say in this ad.
Any guesses AutoSpies.com readers?

I get it...dreams will have to wait. They are touting their Attention Assist system. The figures represented getting thrown out of the car are interpretations of fantasy (a pretty woman, a monster, a sheep [for counting] and some other creature). This reinforces the idea that dreaming has no place while your are in the driver's seat, hence the notion that their Attention Assist will keep you awake with eyes on the road.
The idea "Dreams Will Have To Wait" might have a secondary effect. It might seek to underscore the notion of..."Isn't it time to make your dreams of owning a Mercedes-Benz a reality?"
I dunno, my putting it into words is probably half-baked but I think I grasp the idea.

I did too. If the words: The new E-Class with ATTENTION ASSIST keeps its driver awake and alert didnt pop up, then we wouldnt have got it. What was so hard to understand about this Ad?!?!?

Did I say I didn't understand it?
I said will ANYONE figure it out.
It's not your quick and simple message and I'm SURE 70% + of the people who see this will NOT get it.

Unfortunately, IQ isn't proportional to wealth. So if they are aiming for more on the ball people, they are really just limiting their total sales.

Honestly, I think this car will sell well regardless of this one commercial. Aside from fleet sales in Europe, many will be interested since its acccomodating, loaded with technology and its got a shiny three pointed star on the hood. To some folk, everything else is secondary to the car's image. To the educated folk, they'd accept no substitute but based on the car's true merits.
I'm not sold on the new styling but the outgoing E-Class had me at hello. This one brings some interesting technologies with it and is a fresh face to say the least. I think MB never needed the use of commercials to sell E-Classes here in the U.S. After 2005 when the last one had some kinks worked out, it was extremely hard to ignore the fact that it's packaging was nearing perfection.

There's a whole advertising "campaign", so there will be lot's of different ads.
Who cares if you or anyone else doesn't get this one, maybe they'll get the next one.
In any case , I got it and enjoyed it.....
