Hautai presents Lexus LS and Bentley Continental GT clone
It seems that the main concern of every Chinese manufacturer is to copy & paste… Hautai, revealed today its latest renderings showing its newest “ masterpiece”: a brand new Bentley Continental GT clone. Of course, if someone would ask them, they will definitely say: “This is not a copy!” We heard this one before at the Geely GE – Rolls-Royce Phantom news and the Porsche Cayenne – Byd T6. And by the way… Are the headlights taken from the Lexus LS? The answer is YES!

I totally disagree with you guys. Granted the car has the grille of a bentley continental, but the body is an exact replica of the Volvo ECC concept from 1992

China as a country is admired by many a CEO, even though they are thieving little a-holes

This is just the opening salvo for the Chinese. Make replicas and crappy cars and sell them cheap. Once the money starts rolling in, source what the need worldwide. Need beautiful cars? get Pininfarina. need efficient high output engines? call Bosch. Need a good manager? call Ulrich Bez or Wiendelin Wiedeking. Money is king and if there's a government out there that's flushed with money right now, its the Chinese. I would be the last to laugh at the Chinese' effort to build autos.

get past your ignorant stereotypes.

the germans have on more than a few occasions been copying the japanese in recent years. honda was first with variable valve timing, and EVERY car maker with an interest in MODERN engines has copied that.

newer VWs look like toyotas.

even MB has (re)copied Lexus design cues. the MB ML models even stooped to copy the TOYOTA 4Runner in making their box look more stylish with a trim C-pillar.

many of the germans' boring headlight clusters are beginning to look asian.

I am Chinese and proud of the rich history of the motherland. However I'm born in Canada and raised there. I am embarrased of these low lifes trying to make a copy of a great Bentley. The LS isn't exactly known worldwide so copy that all you want but if you copy names like Porsche, Bentley, Mercedes world marque names it just makes the country and its people look bad.
