What if the 2011 BMW 6 Series will look like this?
We’re back with our “What if….” articles and this time, we have some renderings of the next generation 2011 BMW 6 Series. We have been working together with our friends at Promotor.ro and their graphic artist in creating some computer generated images of what the generation 6 Series might look like.

Okay, maybe not what it will look like, but mostly what we believe it will be interesting if it will follow this design path. Sure, some might argue that the front-end is a bit too close to the CS Concept, and yes, you are absolutely right, but as far as the headlights, we might be onto something here.

The rear-end was even more difficult to illustrate since the spy photos we have seen so far have not helped much, in terms of revealing useful details, but hey….we gave it a try and honestly, we wouldn’t mind if it would turn out to be designed like this.

Not likely, that looks like the CS concept, with Table Mountain in South Africa serving as the backdrop.

I would say thats a start to making the New 8 series....lololo...which should be BMW's next step....this photo-chop is disproportionate no sexy lines just slapped together but if this is the start of the new 8 series then they still have a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go.

People don't like this? Personally I would LOVE it if this was that the new 6 looked like.

It's just a rendering so not all proportions are as balanced as they should be.

But BMW is clearly going to exploit styling cues from one of their best concept, the CS. 6er seems to be the right car to have them applied.

Considering how well they made the new Z4, BMW is clearly on the right track as far as their new design is concerned.

I'm having issues with the "Mako shark" front end...I feel like I want to toss a baited line and reel it in.

it's a crude photoshop draft, so the proportions and lines aren't totally right, but the general concept of a CS-influenced coupe with a folding hard top is quite appealing. in that regard, it looks like a winner.

For some reason it reminds me of the 8 series coupe. If they still made it today, I would imagine it would look something like this. We better see a retractable hardtop on the refresh.

Am I the only one who is not a fan of "broken" character lines? They appear like they are simply grafted onto the surface of the side panel, not flowing with the body of the car. From some angles, they even appear like dents, rather than design lines.

It surprises me that Audi is about the only major car maker that realizes the importance of an unbroken character line running the length of a car - remaining unbroken even when it is sinuous like you have on the A5. This is also, IMO, one of the standout design features on the current 5-Series; strange that very few current BMWs maintain this feature.

Just too many confusing lines. In fact i find this photo shopped design busier than current model. I would like BMW to clean up some unnecessary lines for the new model and make it simpler like CL and Bentley GT.
