BMW 5 Series GT Caught In The Wild

BMW 5 Series GT Caught In The Wild
The production version of the BMW 5-series GT continues road testing in Germany and the car seems to follow the "concept" car, that was shown off last month, nearly verbatim. These latest shots are high-resolution and shot in real world lighting which I believe show off the true curves of this car that were somewhat lost in the press release photos that were under heavy lighting.

Seeing the car in real world conditions confirms to ME that this car has some very well thought out styling cues and will look great from most angles. However, there is no hiding that high trunk that will be an instant turn off for many, but for them, the standard 5-series will be a better fit anyway. This car is everyway meant for a family

It looks like a lower and softer version of the X6. Kind of like how the Infiniti EX is to the FX.

I cant beleive they are going through with this design I dont like it at all.....it looks like the redesigned Pontiac AZTEC with a 1992 mazda 626 hatchback....they are making all of these crazy PAV's, SUV's, MPV's and all that stuff and need to put more effort into designing a new 8 series. but with BMW they have proved the motto "if you build it they will buy it."

B7 I can't agree with you more. BMW was about performance luxury sedans and coupes. And it played that game better than anyone. Now what is BMW about? Seeing how many bodies it can put on the 5 series chassis (5, X5, X6, this monstrosity)?

BMW don't pull a GM and chase the SUV profits. Get back in touch with what made you great: performance luxury sedans and coupes. The 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 are all great ranges. Now lets just get a big, bad 8 on the list and we will do swimmingly.

Not to change the topic, but have u seen the Z4 in person?
I just saw it in person and it looks really nice. Don't just go off pics that you've seen in magazines or online.

the new Z4 looks terrible? Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but yours is definitely in the very small minority. The new Z4 has garnered almost universal praise as being beautiful, and having seen and driven it in person, I agree. A twin turbo Z4 in Mojave or Deep Sea Blue with the Ivory White leather package is absolutely gorgeous.

Has anyone seen the video of the designer being interviewed? In the background you can see what looks like the finished product. They even put the camera on it a few times and it looks pretty nice(for a people mover) without camo.

They just lowered the springs on the X6.

Will this BMW be coming to America or is it only for Europe?

Not good. But hey, we can't expect the greatest of results when BMW clearly is only expanding their line-up in pursuit of Mercedes' already larger-than-necessary line-up.

I totally hate this car's rear end. It looks... wrong.

Dear BMW,

Please make beautiful cars again. I could put up with the expensive repairs, and even the more-frequent-than-you-want failures, because I LUSTED for the products you made. I'll "work" to get a beautiful woman in bed. I'll spend stupid money on a car I lust for. I just like "beautiful", and I *want* to spend stupid money on a BMW. I really, REALLY do! I just can't bring myself to buying an ugly car, no matter how good the track numbers are, or how great the ride is.

I look forward to the day when you inspire me, once again.

Best regards,
-Steve
