The Spies are diggin' the 2006 BMW X3

But it just looks too Korean.

Least favourite of the BMW designs of late, looks okay from some angles, but contrived and akward from others.

I still think the Z4 is the prettiest Bangle Beemer.

For those who like to think that the X3 is overprice or small let me clear things up.
A loaded X3 is only about 43k with the same engine they put in the X5 and weighs about 600 lbs. less, which means it’s faster. In fact the X3 has more cargo space than the X5 by 7 cubic feet. The X3 was NOT designed to compete with the X5 nor is it a baby X5. This car is absolutely wonderful to drive, spend any time in this SAV and you will want one. BMW has had great success with this in Europe and it has done well here. Right now in the mainstream no one has made a small Luxury Sport Activity Vehicle. With this in mind it is easy to call it over priced because there is nothing to compare it too. BMW does not do many things without reason or just cause. Besides where can you get another vehicle that drives like a BMW with FREE maintenance and gives you all the versatility of an SUV but drives like a sport sedan. Unless you take the time to actually look and drive or possibly own one of the cars you decide to "bash" you cannot take what other people’s opinions are and make them yours, which is just plain ignorance.

My wife has an X3. I pushed her twords a wagon. She wouldn't drive a wagon because of the stigma. That is why this car sells. I wanted her to buy a Honda CRV. More power, thousands cheaper. People buy the roundell.

Really though, I don't want to know how great your FX is. Why the hell would you want to buy a sports car with a high centre of gravity?

It is a total write-off come off-road work, and isn't any more spacious than a wagon.

At least with a Range Rover, you get a well-mannered SUV for the road, equipped with all the creature comforts, but can embarass many SUV's off the beaten track.

Now thats what I call engineering integrity.

By the way, the FX looks bloated and un-gainly.

CommonSense, do you judge your cars on BHP alone? You seem to go on about it quite alot.

horse power is a made-up figure. It all depends on rpm. The higher the engine revs, the higher the horse power rating.

You want a V6 to have as much power as a modest V8? Make the redline higher.

Quite simple really.

It doesn't make the engine better, mind you.

Also, The Range Rover Sports problem is its weight. But it can attack a twisty back road with surprising agility.

Now THATS engineering integrity.

And did I mention it can also go off-road?

And when I said lifting the redline, I meant it in the most vague way possible.

And yes, it takes more than a new rev counter to increase the rpm on an engine.
