I like the girls, but not a big fan of the car, the side profile has the front wheels crammed right under the windshield and the proportions look all wrong.

That car looks horrid and cheap. I hope it is priced in the mid 20's but that would make it compete with the prius. That interior is not at all inspiring.

Please tell me that was a Bentley Dealership in the Photo before Last.
The other option would be that the residents of that neighborhood have purchased 50% of the Bentley GTC yearly Production.

that DOES NOT look like a luxury car. it looks like a tricked-out corolla. in my opinion, this car will do tremendous damage to the brand.
and what's the point of it? they could have offered a prius with a grande 'luxury package' without tarnishing the lexus brand.

Lexus has less brand prestige in the US than anyone else! It will not sell. It's a Lexus. A Lexus stands for cheap rebadged Toyotas.

I like the front of the HS. The IS-C looks much better on the Lexus website with the top down, 2-tone blue seats and blue brembo brakes.

You (Hyundai), a competitor to Lexus? Don't tell me you think one and a half cars (Genesis and maybe the Eqqus) from Hyundai makes them a competitor. The whole "It looks like a Lexus, but competes with the Pontiacs, Fords, Dodge, etc" ploy is quite frankly chicken shit if you ask me. If you want to come out and compete with brand, then DO IT! They can't even stamp their name on their product, other than the steering wheel and trunk (shame??).

it will most definitely tarnish the brand. a cheap looking, small car that's just a rebadged version of a cheaper car (in this case the prius) makes the brand look phoney.
just look at the picture of the HS next to the LS. they look like they come from different planets. imagine how the driver of the LS will feel when the guy in the cheapo car tells the valet...'it's the black lexus'...and that little econo box pulls up. not good i assure you.
remember how the shitty little cimmaron wrecked cadillac?
and how the first crappy 190E hugely dimished mercedes prestige?
or how the first ES (a total joke) took away from the first LS?

"they could have offered a prius with a grande 'luxury package' without tarnishing the lexus brand."
You'd rather Toyota platform-share a Lexus with a Prius than have Lexus develop its own car? Isn't this exactly why everyone hates Lexus in the first place?
This car isn't going to do any damage to Lexus at all. With this model Lexus will now have 3 completely different offerings in the compact sedan market. The ES, IS and HS to the C-Class etc.

This just proves Lexus hating is not about the merit but about hating itself.

As 0to60 said, ES is a bit too large to be considered compact so two Lexus sedans are there, one sporty IS and the second efficient HS.
Regarding the car itself, the front looks rather good with the rear being acceptable, but I don't like overall proportions. The car is a bit too tall and has a too short wheelbase. I've seen better proportions than that.

All you BMW haters should shut up! BMW is the leader in design, technology, quality, interiors, value and loyal customer base. They are the luxury brand with the highest growth worldwide. Once you go BMW you never go back and that's a fact. All BMWs are milestones. BMW has done it over and over again. Lead the field and introduced a sexy looking cars that are both small but roomy, very comfortable and more importantly the best thing ever. It is only a matter of time before Lexus or Infiniti will come along and pretend to be a player in this segment which they clearly are not. BMW does it again and again you haters can go take a hike! BMW owns you all!

HS looks a bit too tall and it would have certainly looked better if the wheels were moved closer to the corners. The wheelbase looks small compare to whole length of the car.
But still the front end and c pillars rearwards it is looking good to me. And the interior seems best in class. Looks very flowing and got that fully loaded technology feel.
Good job Lexus, for an entry level car it's very nice. IS is sporty and this will attract fuel efficient buyers.

Last night, on my way to Pelican Hill to see the IS-C and HS in person, I was passed by a caravan of IS-C's zipping through Corona Del Mar(minus the black 350C). As I was waiting at a light, I see the black 350C coming down the hill turning onto PCH. I have to say it looks much better in black...with F-mods...pulling out of a turn. Whether you like the IS-C or not, it definitely makes you look.
When I got to the course, all were gone except for one 250C and the maroon HS. The HS is better looking in person, but still bland on the style side. It's simple styling wrapped around reliability(hopefully), efficiency, and a scale of luxury. If they price it right, it will sell.

Thing this is just terrible. Everything about it. It looks like a mixture of a Toyota Corolla with a Honda accord. Look at the front kit. 100% of the Honda Accord. The side profile screams civic + IS. The rear looks cheap. Interior... As usual, the shiny plastic and cheap look. Just terrible.

Remember when ricers used to buy Acura trim bits for their Civics? That's what this HS250h reminds me of. Except it's worse.
I know it's not based on the Corolla, but Toyota must've worked damn hard to make it look like it is.
