Nissan Murano Cabrio coming in 2010

It’s not the first time when we hear about the Nissan Murano Cabrio, but honestly we thought this project was doomed due to the financial crisis. Well, according to Insideline, it seems that the project is currently in the works and will hit the dealers showrooms before the summer of 2010 as a 2011 model.

The new vehicle will be produced in a very limited edition (wow, what a surprise… I thought everybody wanted an open top SUV), it will carry a soft-top just like the 370Z Roadster while under the hood we will find a 3.5-liter V6 engine capable to develop 265 hp.

I was about to say, before I scrolled down, this didn't work for the PT Cruiser.....it won't work for the Murano either.

i have an 09 Murano and am a huge Nissan loyalist.. This thing will be gone after a year. It goes into the "Bad idea" category with the PT Cruiser cab, Pontiac Aztek, and other fugly cars. The designer for the Aztek was fired, the guy that came up with this idea should have his pay witheld for every one of these that do not sell.

The altima would be a much better choice for a cabrio. At the price point it would sell well against the camry solora. Do they still make the camry solora? If so, im sure it is time for a redesign of that ancient thing.

Come on you guys look at the pic. Its not even real. Look across the top, the hoop is not even tall enough to reach the top of the windshield, which itself is not real. With the engineering dollars spend on this (if they were that stupid) they could build a much better minivan.

Rumor has it that the car is now pushed out to late 2010 as a mid year 2011 entry. Time will tell, but I expect this will suffer the same fate as the PT Cruiser.
