Toyota to lease plug-in Prius in the U.S. in 2010
Toyota announced today that it will lease over 150 units of its next-generation plug-in hybrid vehicle to a selected few customers across Europe, continuing its three-year program. Toyota said that is preparing to deploy over 500 new generation PHVs in Europe, Japan and the U.S. by 2010.

The new PHVs, which are based on the Toyota Prius, carry a lithium-ion battery pack that extends the vehicle range for zero-emissions driving.

This is just a band-aid until the fuel cell vehicle rolls onto the streets. I wouldn't make much of this. This is only temporary to allow the average voting US citizen to say, "Good job Mr. Obama on going green". This plug-in situation is only temporary, don't sweat it.

Hey Bob, dump another load of coal in the furnace. The city needs more electricity for their "Juice points". I just put a load of coal in Jim, oh well, burning coal never hurt anyone. I love the smell of coal smoke in the morning.
