Ford to replace Boss V8 with Coyote V8 making 420-hp

According to sources from the land down under, Ford is marching forward with its ‘Coyote’ 5.0L V8 for the Ford Falcon. Ford Australia confirmed that it will still use V8s beyond the life of the current 5.4L V8 Boss engine.

The Coyote 5.0L V8 is currently being tested in the U.S. with outputs coming in at 402-hp with a maximum torque of 398 lb-ft.

I think it is supposed to be in there next year, the 2011 models. Also I think the V6s will be replaced with the 3.5s used in the Fusion and such. There may be an Ecoboost option a year or so later for a special edition.

Fact is the current 2010 315 hp mustang gt is faster than the dodge challenger and nearly as fast the new camaro ss,even though the camaro has 100 hp advantage! Also has a much nicer interior.I'd say that says better things about ford then the other two competitors.
