BMW X5 Adventure Trip Namibia - Driving in the mountains

BMW Group is organizing driver trainings in Namibia, which enables anyone to test the BMW X5 in various situations across South West Africa on a 1,200 kilometer trip. Participants will not only drive, with the help of a roadbook and GPS, through canyons, dried river deltas and across steep mountain passes, but will also experience the African wildlife.

BMW decided to “show off” the impressive, but sometimes overlooked, off-road capabilities of the X5 and launched some videos showing footage of the BMW X5 on an adventure trip in Namibia driving through deep sand, river banks, mountains and on gravel roads.

Do all of those little buttons still fall off around the audio and and other controls? What a joke. Drive but please don't touch. Absolute crap machine.

This is great what BMW is doing. It shows that just because its a "premium/luxury" SUV does not mean that you have to compromise when it comes to its ruggedness. Form follows Function and the X5 is still a very capable SUV (SAV in BMW's case)

Toyota Landcruiser for me if offroading is the purpose, those videos of that thing in crawl mode are pretty crazy. The X5 did better than I thought in some situations in the video especially with the tires it had but the fact you cant lock the center diff, you also cant get that insane wheel articulation and clearance of the Range Rover/Land Rover or Toyota Landcruiser
