It's easy too see why they drive Lexus, these are the smartest people around! academics, architects, engineers, doctors drive lexus...

pimps, pushers, lawyers, real estate agents, secretaries, jocks, dirty CEO's drive BMW and Mercs.

plus, bleeding your wallet dry driving German takes it's toll after a while :)

Makes sense to me, the people buying these cars obviously don't care about how a vehicle looks, so as long as it stays reliable they are happy.

Dude, Lexus LS buyers are the happiest because:

1. The car they've just bought collected about 70 awards starting with terms like: "top", "best", "winner", "#1" and "most":

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_LS_awards_list

2. Because it is quieter than the Rolls Royce Phantom, not to mention the competitors from Daimler, BMW, Bentley:

3. Because its comfort, refinement and a bit arrogant, self confident luxo-barge look are honestly unrivalled.

4. Because it tops dependability and intial quality rankings with a wide margin over its competitors:

Just stop hating and give credit where credit is due.

Exactly, they care so little about styling or fun factor that they are easily willing to put up with it to own a car that they deem the best bang for the buck... only not bang... more like cheapest luxury that isn't a hyundai.

Also complete BS, but most here aren't very rational or unbiased are they?

The LS is a handsome and attractive car to everyone who buys them. Nobody buys a $75-100,000 car against their will.

Now back to some real news please.

Is it because Lexus LS buyers are usually first time premium full-size sedan buyers? All the LS drivers I've seen were usually in mid-size cars before they owned the LS, so it maybe because of that?

Hit the nail on the head Carboy. A large portion of Lexus owners are first time Luxury car owners!

A lot of Lexus buyers are more mature (not first time buyers) that pay cash for their vehicles. This being said they likely are financially stable and thus have had money long enough to consider dropping that much on a vehicle. BMW owners on the other hand... Remember the majority of them lease. Not buy. The majority of Lexus owners buy, not lease. And a large majority of them pay cash.

Where do you get your Facts from ??

I suggest you take a very good look around, Almost everyone i Know in the USA between ages 21 & 40 have a Large Sedan in their Vehicle Lineup S 550s/A8s and especially 750s.

Here in the UK that age group prefer SUVs and Coupes if you can afford it. But in the USA even the women i know drive Large Sedans.

That's because they have so much arthritis and pain medication pumping through their veins due to the fact that they're 70+. Nice car though.

enough of "don't care about design" argument. Lexus LS is arguably the best looking car in it's class.
At least BMW agrees and copied some LS design cues for 7 series.

Nobody would copy a Lexus which uses a mishmash of styling cues ripped off from other brands. The current 7er is a design evolution of the hideous Bangle 7er and the new one looks damn good.

I agree with you JUNGU. Throughout the history of the LS model, owners have always been very satisfied with that vehicle.

This is not news. That is, unless you just want another opportunity to bash Lexus like a fool and frown your nose up at someone for buying or even remotely liking one. If that is the case, continue.

I think as a luxury car which is supposed to be quiet, comfortable, safe, packed with a ton of amenities and comforts......a great long distance runner, great presence.....this car does meet all that.....Personally I dont care of have a luxury GTI type vehicle....if I want engine noise....I dont have to spend that much...I want a quiet nice luxury liner and this, along with the MB are perfect.
