Why did BMW beat Lexus in the Car and Driver comparison when the point totals were the same?

In your face BMW 3 series, now who laughing? You guys/girls know what I don't Need No Freakin Idiot to tell me that Lexus is a good Car and rank Number # 1 in it class. The reason why Lexus is number #1 is because It has everything from realiability, handling, performance styling, and for the price you paid for it. Oh, don't forget that Lexus has the best interior designing if thier car.

I will point out rhat the Mondeo and Focus are totally different cars.

The IS interior may be put together very nicely, but in terms of design, it's a big let down.

It's nothing to write home about, and some of the plastics used are actually quite cheap.

Hmmm.... I wonder why the IS350 with 306 horse power smoke BMW 330 with 255 ponie...LOL Laughing......pathetic. Why is Lexus doing so well in such a short amount of time? A that BMW fully loaded cost way more than the IS, interior look like dul and it feel like it has no soul in it. Look the same type of plastic they use on the 1980 TV, LOL, I guess that what you call distinguised, plastic on the gauge that look like the same plastic they use on the TV that was made in the 80s.

Don't give me wrong I like BMW to especially the 650 coupe. It difinetly one of the most beautiful car out there. But when we compare the BMW 330 and IS 350, IS 350 is way much better in many way in performance 0-60 in 5.1-5.6 second. Where as bmw 330 0-60 what 6.5-6.7 second, LOL:) that pretty slow. And don't bring the M3 in because it in the porche segment. Interior in Lexus look way more sophisticated and elegant. BMW design dull and boring.

Hey! if you like BMW fine buy one, it your choice. Everyone has different opinion and point of view. I'm not saying that Lexus is perfect, but Damn near Perfect. And please Don't tell me bmw is perfect with all that problem they have. I difinitely belief not only BMW but Lexus, MB, Infiniti and Honda are some of the best auto company out there.

Like I says and I says it again BMW is one of the best car out there so is Lexus. But to said that 330 is much better than IS350 especially in interior design yeah...whatever dude. When was the last BMW won a award for best interior design? LOL: For the price you paying, I would rather get the Lexus IS350, better interior and more Horse power baby. But to give 1 car 1 more point it will be Lexus IS.

Because it hase more Power,luxury,reliable,comfortable,cheap...etc compare to BMW 3 whose only Handling is maybe little better than LExus IS.

But i think LEXUS IS deserves the first rank in it's class/segment.

And i know why BMW 3 series won 1 point over Is is because of it's name plate and it's origion (EUROPE).

What would happen when BMW has a 320HP+ version of the new 3-series? Would all people that now claim that IS350 is best because of the HP advantage accept that BMW is king again? ;)

Did it ever occur to you, at any time, that maybe the Japanese are trying to be more European?

The main Japanese manufacturers are always opening up new design studios in Europe, because they know thats what the public wants: European influenced vehicles. You see it advertising all the time:

"Engineered in Europe"
"European designed"
"European styling and handling"

You can even see it in the new IS. Better dynamics, when traditionally, Lexus owners don't even rate dynamics as a priority. Design, also European inspired, when most Lexus owners wouldn't give a damn. No? Well people brought the LS...

Seductive design and sharp dynamics have always been the European trademarks.

Even if it wasn't always true, it was the perception of a greater motoring public that made the Japanese up their game.

So, if the Europeans tried to be more Japanese, essentially nothing would change.

They'd be taking pointers from themselves.
