BMW has jumped the shark.

No longer the Ultimate Driving Machine, now the Ultimate Art Project.

I'm sure I'll get deboosted for saying so but the more I see it the more I like it. A 550i GT w/ that 400hp twin turbo V8 will likely compare pretty nicely to a Porsche Panamera Turbo, only $30k less expensive and much nicer inside (at least from what little I've seen so far of both cars).

I agree. I would take the BMW any day. I wouldnt buy a Porsche unless i wanted a vehicle with 2 doors.

5 series GT hits no niche market in my opinion. Why even call it the 5 series in the first place? Sure it will have many similarities but the shape of it is just hideous. My opinion is all but the only latest from BMW i like is the 7 series.

i think it is a good move. They will probably not make any more wagons. They will just have a 5 series GT and a 3 series GT. Ther term "wagon" has never done well in the US market, so why not change the name and market it slightly different?
I would take a 3 series GT with the twin turbo engine please!
