BMW And Daimler Team Up For A New Anti-Collision Radar System

Two very well known car automakers from Germany have decided that it’s time to team up. BMW and Daimler are the companies we’re talking about as they have teamed up with Bosch, Continental and Infineon Technologies to form an alliance that will increase anti-collision systems inside of automobiles.

Acura and Volvo are the two in front with this technology currently. Acura was one of the first to bring it to production on the last generation RL. The system would alert with a light and sound, then higher pitch and if collision was imminent it would tighten the seatbelts and apply the brakes automatically.

Volvo took it a step further with the XC60 with City-Stop where it will stop the car if you are in a traffic situation at low speed and not paying attention, which happens more often than not.
