SPIED: 2010 Honda Crosstour
VWVortex forum member GoVdubSPEEDGo (presumably"M. Balisky") was vacationing in Great Smoky Mountains National Park when he came across a duo of Honda wagon/crossover mules. The crew over at Temple of VTEC have dubbed it the upcoming CrossTour, and tapped one of their sources to confirm the new CUV won't share the forthcoming Acura ZDX's platform.

Coupled with the spy shots that surfaced last October, these newest images prove that Honda is well on its way to creating some kind of crossover that could slot in near the CR-V, although drivetrain details and a fall 2009 on-sale date are still speculative. As for the pseudo-wagon's styling, it's essentially your standard four-door Accord equipped with an elongated hatch and a sloping roofline. We'll leave it to you to pass judgment in the comments below.

It looks like the first-gen Prius had sex with a Panamera... seriously... this is more pointless than the new BMW 5-Series GT. I love how there's a Venza parked just inches away.

Someone should have told them they really didn't need to make their version of the Venza, they really didn't.

The Crosstour has a completely different roofline than the Venza which can be clearly seen on this photo comparison:

Actually it was a 3-way with a Prius, a Panamera, AND a Venza....

I'd consider one of these things just because I do a lot of travelling, and need the space. The only stipulation would be, they'd have to offer SH-AWD and a 6 speed manual. If they did that, and maybe dropped in the 3.7L from the TL, they'd have a monster on their hands.

FYI, Venza is NOT an SUV; it's a crossover sedan. :)

That's pretty much what this Honda is, a ZDX. But, I just can't get into the ZDX design. Even though there isn't much to look at, the Honda variant already looks better than the ZDX, IMO.

A much more sensible approach to the GT idea as i assume it would cost at least half as much as BMW 5 GT, but would offer similar space, practicality, fuel economy..etc

Aren't the Venza and this Honda just modern day station wagon versions of the Camry and Accord. They used to exist and work quite well. I think the Venza was nicely done. This Honda is not bad, but I think the storage capacity looks a little tight and the back reminds me of Maxima.

Also, Honda needs to stop hideous Acura models.

Venza is a pretty well executed "station-wagon". It actually does look like an SUV in real life. I love the fact that I don't have to climb a ladder to get in and out of it. It's also got better sight lines than most SUVs... that blind spot LOOKS bad in photos, but it's probably better than most other SUVs with their ENORMOUS D-Pillars.

Unimpressed, so much from Honda and Acura lately is just that, unimpressive. The GT from BMW is MUCH better looking, as is the Venza
