It's sad to see the S2K go. It's such a great little roadster. One of the best cars from Honda without a doubt. Great power to weight ratio, great balance, and a high revving little beast.

The IS-F and parts of the GT-R must have after-market parts that were branded OEM for Toyota and Nissan. Doesn't mean it's a bad thing though.

Awesome little car .
Unfortunately Honda likes to keep its sports cars way beyond the sell of date . Case to point the NSX .
The S2000 was a definite jab at the Porsche Boxter when it came out .
In the 10 years since it has barely moved while the boxter has stepped out clearly from the S2000's shadow.

S2000 good car! Boxters shadow??? When was that, pretty sure boxter has always held its own and has always been more car.

Power to weight ratio the S2K has always been better. While the Boxster has great handling, it simply lacked the umph in its motor. It's a great little roadster but it's not as quick as the S2K on the track. You still get good engineering and a good experience with the Boxster though, I am not taking anything away. But in previous tests, the 350z and S2K were leaders of the pack. Again different market so in that regard you can't compare premium to economy. But that's not my point at this moment.

S2000 not exactly the car to get when looking for "umph", these cars are about handling. Boxter had always lead, besides get a Boxter S for more "umph"!

No air conditioning. No stereo. Quicker steering. Better aerodynamics....

sounds like a lotus.

except slower. And heavier. And not as fun.

Am I missing the point?

Yea, you can fit in it, it's more reliable, and a more realistic everyday car, less expensive too...

Ihaveareds2000-

I agree with you on the whole but when you take away the air con and stereo you limit the "everyday" advantage of the s2000 over a lotus elise (IMHO). A hand built car will never been as reliable as a major manufacturer - but the toyota engine and drive train are solid. Comfort and fit will vary with the individual. The price will probably vary across continents, but in Australia the Elise S and S2000 are the same in price. The elise will be a better drive, lighter (with less wear and tear) and more fun. It would even have airbags, a stereo and airconditioning to boot!

The s2000 is an awesome car - I just don't understand this version. Each to his own.

The interior is is need of a refresh. I really hate the radio controls

I heard somewhere that Honda was in the process of fading out the S2000 with the S3000... 991 years from now.

the bad thing about this car is that it will not be equipped with a radio and a roof which makes it a race car purpose only
