Review: Lexus GS430

The look of the Lexus GS 430 is both shocking and energizing. With its steep semifastback sloping roof, dual chrome exhaust pipes, aluminum road wheels and a hunkered-down profile like a leopard ready to pounce, this Lexus clearly is not your boss' car.



Really, it was inevitable that Lexus would jazz up the replacement model for its aging GS line. Designated to carry Lexus' full-size sport car banner, the GS line was as tame as milk in appearance. And even with a reasonably strong engine, it didn't exactly cause anxious moments in competitors' offices.

The Lexus GS 430 features a 4.3-liter, 300-horsepower V-8 that can hit 60 in about six seconds.

No longer. The "Un-Lexus," as I call the GS, turns heads, raises eyebrows and I'm sure is making competitors all around the globe sit up and take notice.

It a really nice car but it does need more horse power thought. I think it is very beautiful car compare to both the 5 series and M45.

I am the proud owner of a 2006 M45 Sport. I can't be happier that I decided to get this car instead of the Lexus. The Lexus is a great car if you want a car that is less powerful than the M45 does not handle nearly as well, and is no where the value of the infiniti. The brakes are way too tight to modulate smooth!!! Overall it is a nice car but the M45 will simply blow it away. Every car review agrees with me too. I only dread driving the M45 Sport in the snow. Considering that wont be too often I wont be overly concerned. I have my car 4 months and have pt over 5000 miles on it and it still puts a smile on my face when I drive. Sorry lexus good car but not good enough for me.

2 yrs from today it looks tired and boring. Even today aint much different from a well equipped Hyundai. Wonder why its a flop EVERYWHERE outside the US...

I think new GS series are born dead due to the engine lineup,

GS300 should be GS350 with the 300+ power (I'd buy it the day it was out) but morons put the 350 engine in the new avalon instead to please the grannies.

GS430 can't compete with 545i and will be eaten alive by 550i.

Whatever u guys say i loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee GS 300 and 430 sooooooooo much. It's awesome.

And guys, more than 85% of u said u like Audis, so if u like Audi and particularly A6 which is little fat and angular more than sleeker or thin like A8 or 5 series,

u will definately like GS as it looks as good as A6 and way better than 5 series and E class.

And also there is nothing to hate in Gs as it just perfect.

Like excellent design,luxurius,capacious,reliable,good engines and performance,long-life car,well known lexus quality, well laid out interiors,cheaper then it's competitors.....etc

It has all the goodies u can ask for.

GS is simply the best mid size luxury car around.
