Toyota CEO considering helping GM’s restructuring efforts
It was reported yesterday that Toyota is looking to continue its NUMMI partnership with GM at the California plant where both produce the Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Tacoma and Corolla. OMARRANA...Gets your facts straight! Toyota & GM joint efforts support only the Pontiac Vibe, not the Tacoma and Corolla. The rest of this info remains to be seen. My better guest would be that Toyota is probably considering owning a few auto suppliers right about now. After all they are the worlds no.1 automaker and the wisest by far.

GM is making yet another DUMB DECISION in dumping the Vibe.

before the vibe, gm's corolla/matrix clone was the chevy prizm/nova.

it was acclaimed by mgmt guru tom peters as THE BEST PUT TOGETHER vehicle in the WHOLE gm lineup. less problems/defects than even every caddy and buick gm ever made.

gm managers also learned a number of toyota's secrets from this NUMMI venture. (altho' top brass in detroit mostly IGNORED it for years.)

maybe GM thinks it has nothing MORE to learn from toyota? suuure. how was it a few years ago, despite record sales, gm STILL managed to lose money for the year?

for all the billions in gov't cash transfusions, GM is STILL carrying on as usual, making dumb decisions.
