Mercedes-Benz C-Class receives three newly developed engines
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan and estate models will be receiving three newly developed direct injection power units. The C250 CGI BlueEFFICIENCY will come with the 1.8 liter turbocharged gasoline engine that can generate 204hp and 310Nm (229lb-ft) of top torque, enough to propel the sedan from standstill to 100km/h (62mph) in 7.2 secs.

It combined fuel consumption is 7.2 liters/100km (32mpg). There will be two guises for the latest 2.1 liter turbo diesel. As found in the C220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY it comes with 170hp and a top torque of 400Nm (295lb-ft). This enables the saloon to go from 0-100km/h in 8.4 seconds, with a combined fuel consumption rating of 4.8 liters/100km (49mpg). In the C250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY, the 2.1 liter diesel comes with 204hp and a remarkable top torque of 500Nm (369lb-ft) to help the saloon accelerate from 0-100km/h in 7.0 seconds. The fuel consumption is 5.1 liters/100km (46.2mpg).

0-60 in less than 7 and 46 mpg is not slow nor poor gas mileage. What planet are you from?

LexusNews,

Nevermind. Most Lexus fans I know are so blind and hopelessly deluded. Everything Lexus does is perfection while everyone else is run by morons. No need to waste my breath on you.

Not yet, because our U.S fuel standards don't match those in the European Union. MB cars with CDI engines would have engine problems with our U.S. fuel.

That is correct. Our diesel around the contry doesnt always have the ultra low sulfur it requires. I know in the Chicago are there are a lot of stations with low sulfur diesel, but you cant trust each state.

I guess they've given up on giving the car BMW 335 performance. The C-Class is a cheap, under performing, non-competitive, overpriced car. Sort of like the Audi with the exception of the cheap part. But Audi is on it's way with the cheap part. The last gen A4 had richer interior materials than the current A4. Auto manufacturers must think we're fools.

"The controls are laid out logically and have an expensive feel to their action, but some of the interior plastics in the C-class look a bit cheap." -- Car and Driver

"It's beautifully crafted, but the C-Class cabin can come off as austere and a bit bland." -- Edmunds

There are some folks that liked it:

"Nicely padded surfaces and upscale trim are appropriate to the price." -- Consumer Guide

and

"I was fairly unexcited about the C-class interior until I saw it in person; the grade of materials is richer and more appealing than it looks in photos. This is an organized, serious interior with lots of evident deliberation behind it." -- Los Angeles Times

Notice how I didn't stoop down to your level?

You need to learn to accept opposing views without insulting someone personally. Grow the Fuck up dude. These are cars, not girlfriends.

I see that "Wimmer's" reply to my reply of this threaed was deleted. I wonder why? LOL!! The post above where I quoted Edmunds, Car and Driver, etc… was in response to a users comment "Wimmer" which was deleted. In Wimmer's reply he/she attacked me and cursed at me, calling me all kinds of names because I said that C-Class had a cheap interior.

The post above was in reply to that. But now it's gone so I’m looking like I'm responding to my self. Which isn’t the case. Could my reply be deleted as well since it served its purpose of calling out the immature and insecure?

I rarely get to drive my car 0-60 in 6.0 secs. I really dont care. Give me torque, and fuel mileage and a safe, well built care to drive and I am happy. Use to own a C class in 2005. Loved it. I was not impressed with the next generation engines with the low mpg ratings. These diesels could raise my intrest again if they come to the USA.
