Chrysler was hiding $35 million bid for Viper in court
Last month when Chrysler listed most of its $2 billion assets in bankruptcy court, the Auburn Hills automaker said that it didn’t have any firm offers for its Viper brand, which was put up for sale last August. The only offer that Chrysler listed was a $5.5 billion bid by Devon Motors Works.

Now there is a new twist to the Viper story. A California congressman asked former CEO Bob Nardelli to disclose information on a $35 million bid for Viper. He said that the offer hand been hidden from Chrysler’s bankruptcy filing.

In a letter to Bob Nardelli, Rep. Darrell Issa, Calif. said that the lack of disclosure about the information on the bid suggests that Chrysler’s bankruptcy was mishandled. He said that Chrysler must provide proof that Fiat SpA was not trying to...

Hidden bid of $35m for Viper? Does that seem like a fair price? Don't think so. Chrysler probably laughed, then actively forgot about the bid b/c of its humorous nature.

When a potential buyer wants to buy rights to a model in the attempt to cultivate an entire brand, their offer of $35m should be considered peanuts in comparison to the actual value of the asset.

Whatthe. The only reason the Z06 ans ZR1 exists is because of the Viper. Viper has cleaned Vetts clock since its conception. Corvette has done all it can just to play "catch up" In fact SCCA Has factored the viper to the hilt so the vetts could win again. Laugh all u want the Viper is one wicked machine. I very much like Ferraris and respect them highly and as I said they are two DIFFERENT vehicles although the ACR Viper clocked a better time at nuremberg. Seems to me You are the one not paying attention.
