Mazda Makes an About-Face on Hybrid Policy

Mazda will increase its hybrid product from one (the Escape-knockoff Tribute) to the Mazda3 and 6 within the next three model years. The likely source will be from Ford, but Mazda won't totally dismiss an in-house effort to create a gas-electric powertrain.

Kinda makes sense. Making a Tribute hybrid will help to maximize Escape/Mariner hybrid production lines. But it's a no-brainer to make a hybrid Mazda6 and 3.
