GM To Cut NASCAR Spending - Will The Series Survive?
General Motors is planning to cut back on its support of NASCAR teams in all of the sanctioning body's professional series.

Chevrolet spokesman Terry Rhadigan says GM, which is reorganizing through bankruptcy, is discussing what he described as incremental cutbacks in support. He says cuts will be made soon and that the discussions are "indeed NASCAR-wide."

Who cares. NASCAR has become nothing more than a theatric, scripted reality show like Survivor or Biggest Looser. Maybe more like Real World with overstated product placement and no gay people.

None the less...........give me racing with REAL cars and REAL competition.

Yes, NASCAR will survive and continue to grow. Sprint Cup will remain pretty much what it is now. Hardest hit will be the Nationwide series since the Truck series has already (d)evolved into pretty much a rent-a-ride program.

I cannot wait until the day when I get up out of my bed, turn on the news and not see that damn garbage plastered on the screens of Speedchannel...or should I call it NASCAR Channel? What a crock of shit. I wish GM's budget in it would be ZERO.
