Those cars didn't handle well, have great brakes or go very fast. In the wet and snow it was kinda scary and they didn't have any of the modern safety airbags and higher strength steels. They were easier to fix and looked good, but I still don't get it.

Get what?

That car is a CRUISER, not a sports car. Handling is not an issue. This car handled well enough if you drove it like it was meant to be driven - and that means not taking it unto a track and abusing the shit out of it. And the brakes were great for their time period as they were with most Mercedes sedans (arguably the safest cars of their time).

Yeah, I don't get it either. The car is only 40 years old. Shouldn't it have all the technology, saftey, and performance of today's cars?

Anyway, this is one of my all time favorite cars, period. I saw a few of these last week at the Greenwich Concours. I loved them as a kid, and I love them now. Too bad great examples of later 3.5s are aroud $150,000, if not more.

It's just ok, not worth the theater admission though, wait till it comes out on dvd.

The movie is well worth the price of admission! Go see it. Be prepared to laugh your butt off. The car is a cruiser, is a classic and is pure class.
