New details of the Rolls-Royce-trimmed Mini
Reports have been emerging saying that the German carmaker BMW is seriously contemplating a new extremely high-end Mini that will be re-trimmed by the Goodwood facility of Rolls-Royce.

Further reports say that the project is about to be approved. The planned Rolls-Royce-trimmed Mini is not a one-off but a recent test car designed to be an established premium custom variant of the Mini. Customers will be provided an opportunity to select their own interior trim and dashboard elements inside the Rolls Royce factory after which they can receive the completed customized car. The planned high-end Mini demonstrates further that the German carmaker is motivated by the original Mini in its aim to expand the Mini brand.

Actually this is not a bad idea, I mean these buyers can afford higher priced car but go to the mini for fuel economy, handling and things of that nature. The coach built interior should be available and I think all small cars should be upgraded with nicer interiors as options as people are going to them for better gas. Why should they suffer in luxury?

If this comes to fruition, I am not sure if this would be a stud or dud.

There is a niche market for unique, small urban haulers but I am not sure if many individuals are unique enough to shell out, I am assuming, more than $50k+ for a done-up Mini.

Our GM saw the car in London 50k price tag and 500 units world wide.

$50k? Ouch, I'll take a well pampered 335i and have money left over for an awesome Vegas weekend.

I think it would be a hit for those commuters who have deep pockets but don't want to drive around with attention on them everywhere they go. Fully equipped and well appointed is all RR will do. Keeping the road noise at a minimal and further improving the interior quality, fit and finish will make this the hottest MINI ever built.

I see a celebrity like Sporty Spice from Spice Girls driving one of these. I don't know why. Hell, it can be featured in a future AUSTIN POWER's Movie who knows haha.
