Hey I'll admit that is one sharp looking interior

Agreed x 100. It looks REALLY nice. However, I worry, sight unseen, that wood is fake (plastic) and everything feels on the cheap.

That being said, in photos alone, both the interior and the exterior are a MAJOR improvement over the Teardrop Taurus.

I'm looking forward to my next car rental trip.

001 - can you fill us in on the build quality/finishing materials?

Its amazing it took them years to figure out how to design a car while the asian market knew years ago!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it makes Audis obsolete. Posses same virtues as Audi only is so much more arrodable.

Dude, you just don't like Audi and for what reason? Get over them.

SHO needs a black headliner. Looking forward to the SHO review. Knoxville? No babes? We are in a recession.

I'm confused. There's driving impressions all over the web from Edmunds insideline to Caranddriver. Press embargo?

Am I the only one that doesn't like the leaning back look of that dashboard? I think it's a horrible design feature and ruins the overall attractiveness of the car.

Yes.

No. It makes it seem even more massive and solid.

The design is to give less of a flat feel (Chrysler 300) more coupe.

Taurus has come a long way. From as ran rental car to a car that brings some excitement to the large car segment. This new Taurus is nice looking. I love the cars lines and the interior. The rear is a little boring to me. Especially since with that turbo V6 you’ll be showing many cars your tail-lights. At any rate overall all this car will be a hit.

Looks like a great car and it should help Ford since both the Impala and Charger are aging fast and the G8 is dead.

Here's hoping Ford reminds its dealers not to call the SHO the "show" car.

Probably the best in its class. And who was saying that American automotive industry isn't able to compete, America have the best Universities in the world(look at any ranking), so it's pretty obvious that there are peoples who can engineer cars "properly", only management wasn't very good.

Very impressive. The headlights hint at the original Taurus styling. The interior is very well appointed, even details like the nameplate in the door sill. The exterior overall has almost a Passat CC look to it (see picture by the EOP billboard). I am very much liking this car. Although not in my market segment as I would be more a Fusion buyer at the moment.

I may have to look at the Ford lineup when I'm ready to purchase my next car.

I'm really tired of this new trend toward homogeneous design. It's like they want to take 12 different design features from 12 different cars, and merge them all together. Why is that? Is there really such a dearth of design talent? Or is there just too much emphasis on marketing?

"This car sells well, and our focus group likes the trunk lid best. Let's use it. And we'll take the hood from ________ b/c it rated very highly in our focus group as well."

They make cars to the status quo, with "focus groups" commenting on design that 32983893 people do in a committee of stupidity. Alas they are reatrded, and they won't sell any of these pigs.

Well the SHO has no spare, the crappier versions have donuts, if I wanted a donut I would go to DD's

Do your car have a full spare? If so, great, a gold star for you. What is your point? Is this the only thing you can find about this car after posting the same stupid response on two threads?

apparently pennfussball were scarred for life as a small child and were stuck in the middle of the desert because of a car lacking a spare, or you get flats way too often...

This is a great step for Ford, but doesn't look like any car I would purchase. Looks like what an improved Chrysler 300 should look like from the profile. Headlights look like they're from Acura. Also skeptical about interior quality.

I'm sure I will be driving one soon enough as a rental on a business trip.

Makes me excited about the future for Ford...wasn't this car basically designed from scratch in record time?
