Edmunds Inside Line Road Tests 2010 Acura TSX V6 Full Test and Video
The 2010 Acura TSX V6 is really an American car. It's so American that it works better with a 3.5-liter V6 engine than it does with its 2.4-liter inline-4, which is kind of a surprise for a car that comes from Honda by way of its premium car division.

Yet the addition of the V6 seems to make a huge difference in the TSX, a makeover both mechanical and conceptual for this sport sedan, which has seemed kind of underwhelming since the 2009 Acura TSX with its inline-4 engine first came to us late last year.

No Japanese company has worked as hard as Honda to make itself over as an American outfit. Honda has lots of assembly factories in the U.S. just like every other Japanese-label company, but a huge part of the company's engineering brain trust is here as well. You'll find most of it in Ohio, which Soichiro Honda himself picked as the site of his American industrial base because of the profound respect he had for the quality of the American machine tools he bought from the region for his little motorcycle company during the 1950s.

So maybe it's no surprise that the 2010 Acura TSX V6 is the most American of the cars from Honda.

The new TSX has such a great profile, unlike the Accord. The thick C pillar, lack-of crappy body cladding and unneccessary profile grooves, really sets it apart from it's ugly sibling. Where I'm at in Louisiana, you see quite a few TSXs and Tls. The TL isn't half bad looking either; they look great in silver. I didn't realize the TL was so big. It looks like it's as big as the 7 series.

"It looks like it's as big as the 7 series."

Except it 20 inches smaller.

You idiot....there's only a 4in. difference.

Edmunds says the 750i is 199.8 inches long while the TSX is 185.6 inches long. The 750Li is 205.3 inches long. Which means that at the greatest the 7 is just about 20 inches longer than the TSX, at the smallest it is 14.2 inches longer than the TSX.

Just thought I would add something useful.

I just saw that the last sentence actually said TL which is 195.3 inches long meaning about 4 inches difference in length.

In all likelihood theoptomisticpessamistic just mis-unerstood your post, as I did. To be fair you talked most of your post about the TSX and then threw in the TL in the last 3 sentences and threw me for a loop.

Perhaps we shouldn't be so quick to call people names next time, just try to make it clear what you were saying. If you want to discuss 2 separate vehicles a separate paragraph may make that more clear next time, FWIW.

91z, perhaps you should actually read the entire comment before being so quick to corect someone. I understood his comment from the very beginning.

Golfer, I didn't correct anyone, I posted the numbers for the vehicles in question. It was after I re-read the comment and got the intention that I posted again correct information. If I didn't read it 2-3 times I wouldn't have caught it at all. It was not stated clearly what the intention was.

Let's see I'm the idiot right.

Acrua reports the Length of the TSX at 185.6

BMW reports the stander sevens length at 199.8 and 205.3 for the LWB

Just about 15 inches for the standard and 20 inches for the LWB. I don't know where you came up the 4 inche difference.

Here are the respective links.

i think it's quite good looking car much better than the bland and jumbo accord which honda offer here in middle east.

what about the old tsx stood out...., when it first was released it used the same wheels as the accord, its interior desighn looked just like the accords, and for all that extra money over an accord you got a smaller car, with a 4 cylinder. Unless you to pretentious to buy a car that had a H,instead of A on the front of it what was the point....., The new one at least looks better, and more upscale(the old one looked nothing of the part), now the issue though is low grade interior with way to many buttons, and tons silver painted plastic(seriously Honda why)

Best in the business. Honda makes the best engines the world and this V6 is a gem, and with the tech package included, at $38k, this is a steal for anyone in the market.

It boggles the mind why anyone would choose pay thousands and thousands more for a unreliable, striped down and poorly made German vehicles like "BringMoreWorry" 3series and expensive to repair Audis.

I like this car, I can imagine the standard tranny would be faster off the line, Honda/Acura should give them more bottom end power, there top end power has always been great, Japanese engines are notorious for lack of low end torque.I am still a fan! Safety is always top with Honda/Acura.

until honda gets wise and drops the turbo 4 from the rdx into this, im not interested, the v6 is nice yes but the added weight takes away from the the one thing that made the first gen TSX nice, and that was its nimbleness. Alot of people thought the first gen TSX was nothin more than a simple guised up accord but anyone that actually drove one could tell the difference in its sporty nature.

you know your ignorrance is better I guess. One the only people that would a Honda accord with new style, less engine, and a worse interior are pretentious people, not to mention any low end acura, audi, lexus, infiniti, mercedes benz, cadillac, should I really go on is better than the tsx was and is. So say what you want and throw a tantrum because someone called you on a "low end" accord version(the high end accords at least have a v6) dressed in what appears to be an civic sedan with a mazda grill, and pseudo old alfa styling cues, a raspy 4 cylinder, and a shotty interior...get over it its crap.

oh and by the way it was more expensive than loaded accord version while having a 4 cylinder, a smaller interior, the same wheels, and the same interior materials......an idiots car, and a marketers dream

This TSX has underwhelmed me from day 1. As a current TSX owner I was expecting Honda to build on a great platform and take a great step forward, but it looks like it didn't happen. I'll be shopping elsewhere next time.

Huu, when you drive the last generation TSX next to the new one, you'll understand my point to view...unless you're just a pretender too and haven't driven one yet to be able to have an informed opinion?

The Acura has smallish brakes, fine for the lighter 4 banger, dumb for the TSX, They just upgraded the rear pads really and added a slightly zoomier brake booster. Why is Honda Always stingy on brakes?

The engines are magnificent, their fit and finish are better then the European cars, but something is amiss.
Soul?
Passion?
I would rather have a stripped Lexus IS 350 to be honest for the same money and have rear wheel drive, better interior with real wood, instead of plastic and over 300 horsepower. Plus Lexus is just a better name then Acura and their cars are a little more refined.
