New Spy Photos BMW 755ih Hybrid
BMW continues testing with its upcoming BMW 7 Series Hybrid which will be sold under the 755ih name tag. Just last month, we were able to bring you the first spy photos of this new hybrid which seems to be kept out in the open by BMW.

In a way, it’s expected since the 7er Hybrid Concept has been already introduced at several auto shows around the world and the final production model doesn’t seem to be any different.

And to eliminate any doubt that we’re indeed looking at the 755ih, BMW has placed a sticker on the car: “Hybrid Vehicle Testing”. The 7 hybrid will be introduced at the end of this year and it’s expected to be more expensive than the current 750Li model.

MW 755ih uses a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 petrol engine that delivers 407 horsepower and 442lb ft, working in combination with an AC electric motor that can add another 20 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque.

BMW will introduce the 755ih at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Well when the non-hybrid V8 model, offers the same performance, and about the same epa ratings for almost the price of 2 prius cheapers....yeah thats pointless......, the jury is still out on the 7, and S class hybrid because official numbers havent been released.

Weren't you the one who claimed something that a Lexus RX450h needed something like 19.3 barrels per year while a Mercedes ML320 CDI needed 20 barrels per year and then said it was a "big difference"?

And here you state that:

"Note the LS600hL needs 16.3 barrels of oil a year while the LS460 neeeds 18. Not a drastic difference..."

???

i say ditch the hybrids and stick to diesel , they make more sense in a car this size and dont come off as much of a sell out

You guys are welcome! I always keep my eyes out for BMW prototypes. Gotta love Munich! This city is so full of surprises!

On the same day that I spotted this BMW hybrid, I also spotted the S-Class S400 Hybrid by chance. Pictures here:

Also spotted the new BMW 7-Series in taxi form:

In a typical fashion, BMW will rush this haphazard hybrid out the door for the guinea pigs to field test it for them :(

BMW + electrics = bag of trouble

Is BMW already back with their old naming standards ?
According to the new one, it should have been dubbed the 755i Hdrive.
Just wondering how they are going to name the long wheelbase variant, the 755iHL or the L755iH ?

It was not mandatory to badge the car as an hybrid, maybe slightly different wheels or trim would have done the job. Those HYBRID badges reminds me the time when it was common to see "FUEL INJECTION" "ABS" or even "AUTOMATIC" badges on car.
