Hybrid Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe in the works
Just like the Mercedes-Benz CLK who transformed into the E-Class Coupe , the CL-Class will change its name into the S-Class Coupe in 2011, when it will make its official debut. According to Auto Motor und Sport, the refreshed version of the CL will receive a new front and rear apron but also new headlights featuring daytime running LEDs, just like the brand new 2010 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

The big surprise will be under the hood, where the S-Class Coupe will receive the same engines found on the new flagship sedan, which means that we will see the same technology found on the 2010 S400 Hybrid on the brand new coupe.

I you can afford this car, you can afford the gas. The hybrid system will add weight and i'm sure there won't be a night and day difference in fuel economy.

I guess, I would ask what hybrid system would they use? The jointly developed dual-mode hybrid transmission is not only good for SUVs and Trucks, it's also good for heavy large cars, coupes, wagon, etc.

All of these heavy luxury sedans could really benefit from the dual-mode hybrid trans. Especially, if they paired the system with a diesel engine.
