STUD Or DUD? BMW 7-series M-Sport Package Images Leak Out
Out of nowhere, photos of the BMW 7 Series M-Sport Package were released onto the internet today and it’s better than we expected. If the new 7 Series was already a car close to our hearts, with the released of this new M Package, it got even closer.

The M Sport Package will be available for the 745d, a model sold in the UK market. On the outside, the car receives the usual M Package upgrades: a more aggressive front fascia with a much sportier looking bumper and design; the rear-end bumper has also been slightly redesigned and a set of wheels which will probably be available only with this package.

Moving inside, the M options seen in the other packages are present here as well, starting with the M steering wheel, M shifter and even if not shown here, M footrest.

Has some nice visual upgrades, but I prefer the 19" multispoke wheels on the sport package that is currently available.

Two fat Chrome bars on front and rear bumpers are a bit ugly and unnecessary. Wheels are nice.

BMW 750 = DUD
I would rather Walk then drive his BMW...Inside line has one on a long term test and the cup holders already broke and a weird noise is coming from the engine that sounds strange with a rrrRRRRrrrrlike a power steering pump on an old car from the 1980's!

I think they did a good job and did not over do the image of the new 7er. I like the wheel I would have preferred BMW do a deep-dish look on the M-Sport wheels and maybe give the side skirts just a little more flare for this....but I can deal with this.....they left the sport touches subtle>>....DOES THIS MEAN WE CAN LOOK FORWARD TO AN M7 IN THE NEAR FUTURE or EVEN A 7ER COUPE(is what i am really looking for)

Instead of those crome bars, they should add fog lights....most of time missing in the M models.

pennfootball: I'm not fan of BMW but if the car is good, then I recognize that the reliability of BMW is improving a lot, so it sounds to me that, that specific car is lemon and some times it happens, but it doesn't means that all 7 are bad cars...

I at least commend you on saying you are not a fan of BMW...there is not many of us out there. I owned one and it was a REAL Lemon...2001 330Ci convertible. The Kidney Grill popped out Even the B feel off the Roundel and I had a MW instead of a BMW!

Gee the "B" fell of your roundel (a rock chip is the most likley cause), did it not have 120K on it? Oh by the way the roundel is 25 bucks and takes all of 3 minutes to replace.

Stud.

Add a twin-turbo V8 making 600 hp. The greatest.

The interior design is the best aspect of this car, except for of course, the typical BMW performance. However, those chrome strips look awkward and I prefer one without the M package. Whatever happened to the clean, sporty & sophisticated BMW exterior deigns of the past? (I am especially talking about the E39 M5)

On a slightly different yet related note, here's my feel for what the new 7 should have looked like:

http://www.contourpixel.com/bmw_7_mod.jpg

The real 7 is not bad, just too bulky in places (especially in the back) And IMO the rear lights are just too "amorphous" for a German/European design.

Wow, total studness IMO, although not a drastic improvement over the standard body, since it looks so great already. Now, if I can get that kit with the 311 star spoke 21" inchers, I'd be in automotive heaven...

The big goofy chrome trim in bumpers look out of place and cheap like they came from Pep Boys. Luxury models usually have the extra chrome trim and this is a sports model which doesn't make sense. This car doesn't look that much better looking than the standard model and it looks boring for a high performance car it's supposed to be. The wheels are ok but a little more on the boring side also. Overall on a scale of 1-10 and 10 being the highest I'll give it a 4 for style/design especially considering what this car will cost.

HUGE DUD! Seems like a rushed BS job to just to put the car out. The chrome on the rear bumper is no good. Instead of chrome they should of threw carbon fiber or color matched. The steering wheel looks as if it came from an E46 M3. It's 2009 and people want their car to feel special. Throw alacantra or whatever audi/lamborghini puts on their wheels, and maybe improve the design if possible. The rims are also a joke, BMW offers better selection of wheels already for the 7er.

With Mercedes or Audi, when they do an AMG/S-Line trim package, you think its a whole different animal. With the 7er M-Package, you get a perfectly good 7er with ugly chrome accents. Why would you pay more for a car that looks worst?

So, four big pieces of chrome on a Sport Package BMW?

I thought most Sport Package BMW's feature Shadowline trim?

Probably should have stuck to the "blacked out" theme. Otherwise, not that bad.

I think the four chrome strips (front & back)"highlight" the Sports package and sets off the car rather nicely. Like you, I had initial doubts as the car ought to be totally "blacked-out" but the chrome should help it stand out better on the road. It appears to be a wonderfully resolved paradox that the BMW stylists have dealt with....
