Porsche Spyder prepares its big comeback
The Porsche Spyder, the most respected name in the history of sports cars, is making a comeback and there are images that demonstrate how it will look like when it gets here by 2013.

Coming with the platform of the VW Bluesport Concept, a platform that will be shared with the upcoming Audi R2, the latest compact Porsche will keep the company’s reputation for unequalled driving dynamics, although in a much lightweight, economical and less expensive form compared to all models in the recent past. The latest Spyder will sport a canvass roof and will offer the same open-air driving sensation as the Boxster, although it is just 3.99 meters in length, much smaller than the current entry-level Porsche. The car will be powered by a variant of the 200bhp 2.0 TFSI powerplant borrowed from the Volkswagen Golf GTI, which is installed behind the driver and, for better handling stability, between the two axles. The same powerplant will feature in a Sport variant, but it will be tuned to generate 280bhp.

You can't buy one, but you can go to your Lexus dealer and buy a Toyota with nice leather.

The Porsche Spyder is "the most respected name in the history of sports cars"? That's a pretty bold statement.

hes saying that Porsche, as a brand, is one of the most respected marquees in the history of sport cars. and that is not a bold, but rather a true statement.

"hes saying that Porsche, as a brand, is one of the most respected marquees in the history of sport cars. and that is not a bold, but rather a true statement."

Yes, that would be a true statement. The problem is, that's not what he said. Since you apparently didn't read it before you attempted to paraphrase, here it is again for you:

"The Porsche Spyder, the most respected name in the history of sports cars, is making a comeback and there are images that demonstrate how it will look like when it gets here by 2013."

That doesn't say "Porsche, the brand, is AMONG the most respected manufacturers of sports cars". It says that one model, the Spyder, is THE most respected sports car. Ever. In history.

So I stand by what I said -- that's a pretty bold statement to be making, and I'm sure there are many people out there who would disagree with it.

Looks like the illegitimate offspring of an orgy where the unwilling participants were a Toyota Mr2, a Mazda Miata and a foreign exchange student from Krautenstein.

It's not going to look like that they will make it prettier. This is a cool car especially since it will be easier to live with than a Coxster or a Boxster. It will be lightweight and have good performance figures with the 280hp version. The 200hp Version will be good for posers, wives and other fluffy beings who can't afford good Porsche's. Less can be truly more!

Clarkson called the Cayman the Coxster, Clarkson is smarter than everyone of all time. Your terms are wrong and so are you.
