The first pre-production Chevy Volt "Integration Vehicle" was completed this week ahead of schedule. Looks like GM's putative four-wheeled electrified savior is getting closer to reality.

Say hello to the future of motoring - plug-in cars with a small capacity internal combustion range extender.

These cars are going to be shaped by aerodynamics, above all. Unfortunately, that makes them go for similar shapes.

They all look like '78 VW Dashers, from the side.............

Finally, a Chevy other than a Corvette that I'm actually interested in.

I'm anxiously awaiting the offical Volt debut.
One thing concerns me, however. I'm a big, tall guy - I barely fit into my 2009 Audi A4. Will this thing's interior be big enough for me?
Help me out here, guys. Does anybody know how large the interior of the Volt is supposed to be?

This Prius is the more advanced vehicle as it gives you the option to run on gas and or electric. Chevy is using old technology called a generator to power electricity to the car.

GM better do this one right. It's almost their last chance.

I swear it looked so much better when it was first unveiled (As is always the case, the production version gets "watered down")

Amazing. I believe AutoSpies has outdone itself this time. There are some even lower-browed responses on this thread than usual. <smh> Lexus will be selling a "Prius" (and to the asshole who is going to tell me that the HS250h is a Toyota Avensis, with a 2.4L Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder and a Prius-like electro drive, making it closer to a Scion tC, I already know that) for around US$30k. So how is it that the Volt selling for the same money with far more advanced technology is too expensive? Corvettes are expensive cars, but for the money you are getting a terrific car. It's not hard to fathom that another Chevrolet product can deliver the same.
