Audi A5 Sportback caught almost undisguised
Although it is not absolutely known why the five-door Audi A5 Sportback is at the University of California San Diego, a series of images of the car have been posted by students on the Net. Basing from the images, it is speculated that the spotted car will come with higher specs since it is equipped with the A5 Coupe’s five spoke alloy wheels.

The carmaker itself had only released a teaser image and artist’s rendition of the vehicle. The front section of the vehicle has been masked but for the first time the rear section can be clearly observed. It looks like the front and rear sections have a resemblance to the A5 coupe and the middle section is extended for the two rear doors that come without frames. The A5 Sportback has a profile of a coupe with a lower roofline in contrast to the A4 and a tapering hatch into the clear air spoiler at the back.

Somehow I thought that it would be considerably lower/sleeker... This almost looks to have more (ungainly) BMW 5-GT like proportions.

it's as low and sleek as the A5/S5 I'd imagine, need a pic?

From that angle it looks like they were hiding in a tree to take this pic ;) Love em.

to me it's looking much better than the hideous 5 gt and also panamera.

The A5 seems to have a balance in proportions, I like this.

All of them following the lead of the CLS, However, CLS is not hatchback.. Audi A5 looks a lot better than the BMW 5GT series...

Audi's probably the first to get this body style right.

Mazda has this hatch design long time ago and looks better than the Audi. I wonder why it takes so long for the European manufacturers to produce this variant.

Like Audi (except perhaps that Hummer-like Q7) and this one looks very promising, but I'll withhold judgment until we know whether it'll come to the US with either a fuel-efficient/high-performance hybrid, turbodiesel, or diesel-hybrid!
