Infiniti Essence Concept to participate at Goodwood’s traditional hillclimb
The Infiniti Essence Concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show four months past has become the basis for the Japanese luxury brand’s future design. The Essence, a RWD luxury coupe intended for a 592hp gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain will be participating in the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed’s traditional climb up the hill.

This marks the concept model’s first performance in public. The car is displayed at the FoS-TECH pavilion when it is not running on course. The Infiniti G37 Convertible is set to join the Essence at the Festival of Speed and on the climb up the hill. To guide it on the course will be two British Infiniti drivers.

That is pretty cool. I hope they make this car and start using some of these designs in their current lineup.

I think Infiniti may be reconsidering a production version for the Essence concept. A good way to gauge possible consumer reception would be to attend driver oriented events like this. The Essence would be an excellent Infiniti flagship.
