Lexus to launch 1-Series competitor

Lexus will launch a small car to compete with the BMW 1-series and Audi A3 Sportback in Europe from 2008, reported Automobilwoche.

The Lexus BS will be based on the IS250 platform.

At launch, engines will be a 2.5 litre V6 with 208 horsepower, and a 177 horsepower diesel with D-Cat technology, the newspaper said.

A three litre six cylinder, 250 horsepower engine, and a hybrid version, will follow at a later date.

CRONEY:The main objectives of Toyota were to provide basic/simple transportation to the world and sell them wildely, they have completed their objective.

as with the case of everyone,when they achieve their goals,they set new marks/targets to achieve and become bigger and better.

Toyota has done the job.Now they sell basic cars more than any in the world and are in huge profits.All the cars are leaders in their segments.

But they want more, they even want to compete with Luxuries/sports,they think they can do it. So they Made Lexus to compete with MB,BMW,Jag,Caddillac,audi,....etc.Which is doing well too and only in short span of 16 years.

Now the biggest thing here is that TOYOTA has already Taken THE SMALL AND MID-SIZE CAR MARKET AND ALSO DOING WELL IN LUXURIES/SPORTS SECTION.(IN THE WORLD).

ON THE OTHER HAND WHAT MB,BMW,AUDI,JAG,CADILLAC...ETC HAVE ACQUIRED FROM THW WORLD.NOT EVEN 10% OF TOYOTA'S SALES WORLDWIDE.

Is there any vehicle from german which can compete their sales with:
1)Corolla
2)Camry
3)4-runner
4)Land cruiser
5)Hi-lux pick-up
6)Hi-ace Mini bus
7)Coaster bus

But german surely wants their brands to be like TOYOTA,excellent in every aspect,segment,class and also profitable.

BUT THEY R NOT, AND THEY EVEN CAN'T AND WILL NEVER TAKE THE SMALL,MID-SIZE MARKET FROM TOYOTA, BUT TOYOTA SURELY WILL TAKE THEIR ONLY SEGMENT ONE DAY THAT IS LUXURY/SPORTS SEGMENT.

ALL IN ALL:

TOYOTA: LEADER IN SMALL,MID SIZE,FULL SIZE CARS AND ALSO DOING WELL IN LUXURIES/SPORTS.

GERMAN: LEADERS ONLY IN LUXURIES/SPORTS CARS.


RLK: Don't say like this u fool.U or the other guy said the same thing before the launch of IS and GS that it will do no harm to it's german rivals and the results are in front of u.Go and check it out.(Check oct,nov sales of both GS and IS)

And i am pretty sure that upcoming LS,LX,ES,SC and now this BS will have the same success enjoyed by it's cousins.

And don't talk about selling,as u know The parent company of Lexus are master in selling cars.

So no doubt of Lexus in selling aspect,they will sell greatly.
