Renault preparing an electric competitor for Toyota Prius
Renault’s zero-emissions family option is set to follow the Kangoo in 2011. The car, which is set to measure 4.7-meters in length, will use Renault-Samsung’s SM3 as a basis. Due to its weight and size, the car will need a bigger battery pack and more power compared to its EV rangemates.

It’s expected to be priced at a little more than €20k. Renault will soon be showing off its smallest La Regie battery cars, the third of the series. It is sized at 3.5 meters and is a two-seater city car. Renault has said that it has a “distinctive and unusual design.” Due to government subsidies, expect the €13k starting price to be halved.

Why would they??
They would be loosing their shirts in the U.S...
All the manufacturers that depend too heavily on the U.S market are loosing money... yes.. even Toyota!!
