Which Vehicle Says To The World You're Truly INDEPENDENT?

Which Vehicle Says To The World You're Truly INDEPENDENT?
Seeing that this is the weekend we celebrate OUR independence, I thought it would be appropriate to ask what vehicle screams the most that the driver is an independent thinker.

Someone NOT influenced by hype or a follower of trends or others...a person that shows the world THEY are the trendsetter by the vehicle they drive.

Someone who flies to the beat of a different drum.

So what vehicle is it?

Which one makes THAT statement better than any other on the market today?

Can't wait to read the responses...

And we'd like to wish all Americans a happy 4th of July Weekend and send a special shoutout to all the troops around the world who are protecting us!!!

America, the BEAUTIFUL! WooHoo!

Hmm this is a tricky question. There is a huge crowd of people looking to buy cars that make them look "independent" and they are... just like every other person who tries to look independent. In all honesty, I think a regular production car won't do it... you would have to go for a street legalized c6r or maybe a legalized formula car?

It depends on the context of the word "independent". Independent from other countries, or just individually idependent?

If it's the former - Ford Expedition

If it's the latter - Subaru Outback

For once I have to agree with veyron, although the Corvette is a aweful nice car, it doesn't really show independent thinking as it is the everymans super car.

I think it's better looking than the 1-Series but unfortunately, it doesn't DRIVE and PERFORM like the 1.

Happy 4th SpyGents and SpyGals!

Easy, "staying away" from the following badgewhore marques means you think outside of the box, so avoid:

1. BMW
2. Benz
3. Porsche
4. Ferrari

BMW E30 M3.

It's a beautiful car that a lot of mainstream people don't recognize or know anything about, even a lot of BMW owners.

Along with other E30s as well (imo, they have more character than most cars today).

I still want an 850CSI to this day. My wife gets pissed because everytime I see an 8 series I make a big scene, like a kid.

Independent and to heck what people think... try an '09 Chevy Cobalt SS sedan. It is criminal how well this car drives and handles for such little money. 001 have you driven one? I am a car snob but this car caught me off guard as the ultimate sleeper. In July 4th spirit, you owe it to yourself to test drive this American bargain.

Yes it is.

Put a nice interior in it and make the exterior a little nicer and you have a world beater.

I hope with the "New GM," they will spend a bit on interiors. The Solstice is a perfectly good example of a nice design, ruined with inferior plastics and materials.

I'm sure much of the continuing negatives about GM are the result of interiors that look like they were supplied by Rubbermaid, using synthetic mouse fur.

LOL!

the thing is, your fantasy commercial ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE! with the traffic conditions most of us has to live with, who the puck really NEEDS a v8 engine these days? even a Six is more than needed, if you never intend to do Track Days.

Volkswagen Phaeton for sure. Its probably the best luxury sedan in the world, but with a brand associated with cheap cars. To make matters worst, it isn't particularly cheap either. Its certainly not cool enough that everyone wanting to look independent would be buying one (a pretty big group in itself).

the MOST independent statement in a vehicle: anything on TWO WHEELS that is NOT a harley!

fast AND fuel efficient. fast EVEN IN TRAFFIC, if you are in a jurisdiction that allows lane splitting.

Jeep Wrangler. Nothing can compete with it. Freedom from a top on your car. Freedom from having doors. Easy to drive off the beaten bath to get to somewhere fun, like camping. The jeep helped us out in the world wars to help us gain our independence further.
